God divorced Israel because of their unbelief and married them to the law. Your heavenly father does not want any of His children to suffer abuse, but to be nurtured and loved, just as Jesus loves the church. You are so precious, abused people wrongl…

I can only share a portion of my journey. I was married for 15 years to an abusive man - I won't go into any details, but he did get 5 years in prison. Two years before our world fell apart, I was studying Eph. and realized I did not have any real c…

July 7, 2009
Hey Keith, I would say that both the husband and the wife should have a chat to God and ask Him to speak to their hearts! I believe that God loves the husband as much as He loves the wife. God wants to reveal Himself to both these people in all His…

Amen, Joshua, I agree with this -God is faithful regardless! But what if you learned the husband in the situation is committed to God, a "grace-filled" born-again christian, and committed to change and reconciliation?? AND.... NEVER guilty of physi…

Lydia, I just hope that you are comforted during this time. And know that there is NOTHING that can separate you from the love of God that is in Jesus.

Accountability

Okay, so what thoughts do ya'll have on accountability? I would really like to know. My old church believed very strongly in accountability and having accountability groups. Confessing areas of sin and struggle, and then having someone hold you accountable as you press on to 'grow' or defeat sin areas. I will be honest, my husband recently told me I should be accountable to someone for my actions, or for my lack of actions. I realized, you know, that means accountability is more like a drill ser… Continue

Does the Holy Spirit convict you of sin? Part 2

So, I wanted to go a little deeper in this post, if I can, although I will probably repeat a lot of what I already shared in part 1, on why I don't believe the Holy Spirit convicts me of my sin. You may want to read the original post first.

Here I will mention some of the arguments I have received in light of this question. One person's thoughts were in light of how Paul brought sharp correction to the churches. They believed that since Paul did this that they believed the Holy Spirit inspired… Continue

Does the Holy Spirit convict you of sin?

This is a question that came to me some time ago after God revealed to me His awesome grace. If Jesus died to take away all sin and God does not see our sins anymore, he only sees us as He sees Christ, perfect forever, then how does the Holy Spirit see us. Is is his job to convict Christians of their sins? I wrestled with this because I had been taught that he does. The truth is the accuser, Satan accuses us night and day of our sin. So how can it be that the Holy Spirit would fill that same rol… Continue

Punitive, permissive or grace based parenting..........

When the Lord began revealing grace to me over a year ago, everything in my life and my perspective started to shift and change. I began to see things in light of grace. Parenting became a huge shift for my husband and I. I began to see how I could no longer be a punitive minded parent. Corporal punishment was huge in my old church and was pretty much the only ideas my parents had about raising kids. I began to realize a lot of Christians equate discipine with punishment, which is simply not tru… Continue

More thoughts on grace filled parenting.....

So, I have been provoked to thinking further about this issue of parenting through grace. I am by no means an expert in parenting. I do happen to have 4 boys ages 9 1/2 down to 1 and have learned a lot over the years, mostly the hard way :) I have a great passion for parenting my boys in a grace filled way, since I have seen nothing but turmoil produced in our lives from formerly using a legalistic approach. I have been asking the Lord for His Spirit of wisdom and revelation to be revealed to me… Continue

Another thought I had is this......does God demand our obedience, does he require it? He wants first a relationship with us, a love relationship - and we can love Him because he first loved us, right, and out of the overflow of our hearts we will want to obey him, and we still will not do it perfectly, ....so can I even "demand" or "expect" obedience from my kids - the law demands perfect obedience to show our inability to keep it and our need for Jesus.....yes this is true, but I want to be more like Jesus to them as I watch him love the sinners and the messy people, one touch from Him and understanding of His acceptance was all it took for some......(thinking of Zaccheus....Jesus never told him to stop cheating people, he just loved him and Zaccheus wanted to stop doing wrong....)

I don't want to under estimate the power of LOVE......!!!!!! Nothing compares to His LOVE!!!!
