Obedience in the New Testament is directed towards the doctrine of Grace. The obedience of Jesus fulfilled the Law (Rom 5:14-21) and we are seen as 100% obedient concerning the Law, the righteousness of the Law has been fulfilled in us by Jesus. The only obedience that is left for us is to obey His new commandment which is to believe what Jesus has done and that is how we partake willingly from His wonderful gift of life made available to all of man.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
Believing the Gospel of good news is life for it is eating and drinking Jesus and partaking in His fullness– Jesus removed the sin of the WORLD so that any person in the WORLD who wants to live can have free access to life. No person is excluded in this wonderful sacrifice. Hallelujah!!
This is why we preach the Gospel that people might believe what Jesus has done for them for we are fully persuaded of what He has done for the whole world.
